Warner Bros. Consumer Products is celebrating the success of the spectacular Harry Potter: A Magical Event which took place at the London Film Museum on Saturday 2 July 2011.
23-09-2011London – XX July 2011 -- Over 2,500 Harry Potter fans, with more than 500 in Harry Potter costume alongside one fan who flew in especially from America, flocked to London’s South Bank for this special one-of-a-kind extravaganza that allowed enthusiasts to experience a spellbinding array of Harry Potter products and see actual film props and costumes that were used throughout the film series and will be on display at the London Film Museum through November. Harry Potter fans also had the chance to win one of the last remaining pairs of tickets to the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 that took place in London yesterday.
Many key Harry Potter licensees were on site led by Tomy, whose on-site team demonstrated how to use their products including the best selling The Monster Book of Monsters, Hermione’s Bag and the Infra-Red wands. Fans were also able to test their wand skills with Tomy’s Infra-Red wands and duel against one another.
Fans also had the opportunity to dress up in official costumes from Rubies, Noble and Lochaven and have their photo taken in front of an iconic Hogwarts backdrop. Fully-built LEGO Harry Potter construction sets were on display too, and fans tried out the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 the video game provided by EA Games. What’s more, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment provided game pods for people to play the LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 video game and giving a first look at the sequel LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 video game, which will be on sale in Winter 2011.
Panini, Transworld, Winning Moves and She Who Dares were also on-site to demonstrate their new products which include sticker books and stickers, the amazing Film Wizardry behind-the-scenes book, Harry Potter Top Trumps and the updated board game Destination Hogwarts.
The event was widely covered by the world’s media with press coverage appearing in the London Evening Standard, The Guardian, The Independent on Sunday. Reuters TV was in attendance and thousands of tweets and blog entries followed on the many Harry Potter fans sites.
